Vanishing of Principal Value Integrals on Surfaces

چکیده
Principal value integrals are associated to multi–valued rational differential forms with normal crossings support on a non–singular algebraic variety. We prove their vanishing on rational surfaces in the context of a conjecture of Denef–Jacobs. As an application we obtain a strong vanishing result for candidate poles of p–adic and motivic Igusa zeta functions.

TWO LOW-ORDER METHODS FOR THE NUMERICAL EVALUATION OF CAUCHY PRINCIPAL VSlLUE INTEGRALS OF OSCILLATORY KIND
In this paper, we develop two piecewise polynomial methods for the numerical evaluation of Cauchy Principal Value integrals of oscillatory kind. The two piecewisepolynomial quadratures are compact, easy to implement, and are numerically stable. Two numerical examples are presented to illustrate the two rules developed, The convergence of the two schemes is proved and some error bounds obtai...
متن کاملLINEAR ESTIMATE OF THE NUMBER OF ZEROS OF ABELIAN INTEGRALS FOR A KIND OF QUINTIC HAMILTONIANS
We consider the number of zeros of the integral $I(h) = oint_{Gamma_h} omega$ of real polynomial form $omega$ of degree not greater than $n$ over a family of vanishing cycles on curves $Gamma_h:$ $y^2+3x^2-x^6=h$, where the integral is considered as a function of the parameter $h$. We prove that the number of zeros of $I(h)$, for $0 < h < 2$, is bounded above by $2[frac{n-1}{2}]+1$.
متن کاملMean value theorem for integrals and its application on numerically solving of Fredholm integral equation of second kind with Toeplitz plus Hankel Kernel
The subject of this paper is the solution of the Fredholm integral equation with Toeplitz, Hankel and the Toeplitz plus Hankel kernel. The mean value theorem for integrals is applied and then extended for solving high dimensional problems and finally, some example and graph of error function are presented to show the ability and simplicity of the method.
متن کاملAnalysis of singular and near-singular integrals by the continuation approach
We present a summary of the Continuation Approach for a broad class of singular and near-singular integrals. Insight is gained into the behaviour of these integrals, and general formulae for integration are obtained using conventional concepts in calculus. Moreover, conditions for boundedness of the singular integrals arise naturally, showing when a strongly singular integral coincides with the...
متن کاملOn Motivic Principal Value Integrals
Inspired by p-adic (and real) principal value integrals, we introduce motivic principal value integrals associated to multi-valued rational differential forms on smooth algebraic varieties. We investigate the natural question whether (for complete varieties) this notion is a birational invariant. The answer seems to be related to the dichotomy of the Minimal Model Program.
